WILL and WILL POWER

Mind, spirit, soul, will, ego, consciousness, love- one of the concepts that we don’t have the clearest definition of what they are. Today we are talking about the will and will power! What is will?

Usually we say that someone has  “strong will” or “no will at all” or that “it takes just  a little good will” to solve something. Somewhere I have found that the will is function of soul as a creative force of nature, but currently I don’t want to talk about what soul is. Behind the will is power, it is obvious- power, force, energy, as you please. But it still does not clarify anything. If we are all energy, why someone has it more or less? There must be a trigger that releases this energy or blocked it. In the absence of power I see only inhibition. What does block us? FEAR! What is fear? EMOTION! Where are the feelings? In the subconscious mind!

As we already know -if the content and ideas from the mind does not arrive in the subconscious supported with positive emotions, conscious action will be doomed to failure. Subconscious is the director. If your negative emotions are strong they are making your will weak! There is no man on the planet who was born with a weak will. Will becomes weak over time under external negative influences that produce negative emotions that produce negative thoughts, ideas and images.

Behind  the weak or strong will are emotions. Behind  emotions? IDEAS, THOUGHTS! What is behind the idea? Your DESIRES, your desire to create! Powerful and strong will would be your released desire to create-supported and guided by strong emotions, an exciting idea.

This is one of the reasons why I not support the idea that is good for us not to desire anything, in the sense we are avoiding suffering that way- it kills creativity and it is spiritual suicide.

NEVER SAY DIET

The word diet comes from the Greek word diaitao which means “healing” and the Latin diaeta which means “way of life.” So, when we say cabbage diet, this would mean that eating cabbage all the time heals us and it’s our way of life?

We are absolutely clear that the word diet in the past at least 5, 6 decades, completely changed its meaning. Diet today means an instant solution for losing weight quickly, and in fact most people have no idea that losing weight quickly in the form of fat in general is not possible.  What is actually happening in your body when you perform any of popular crazy diet?

“I have lost 10lbs in a week and 14lbs for two weeks”, this sounds familiar. My dear, you didn’t lose 14 lbs of fat, what you lost is water and muscle mass. For example, when we do not take carbohydrates that body uses for energy, it is forced to spend reserves of glycogen. Each gram of glycogen holds 3-4g of water. Spending glycogen, body is spending water, too. As soon as you return to the old way of eating, you will return most the weight you lost.  When body spent glycogen reserves, it would look for calories in another place and would start to eat muscle tissue. This is the perfect way to make yourself the perfect machine for gaining weight. Loss of muscle means that your basal metabolism will be slower when you finished with diet. Protein diets, further, bring the body into a state of ketosis-it means that your body now draws strength from ketones. But as more ketones in the body your kidneys need to work harder  in order to filter those ketones, which can lead to kidney damage.

Consider this- DIET ON WHICH YOU CAN NOT BE FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE PROBABLY IS NOT A GOOD IDEA TO START WITH! Body needs carbohydrates and proteins and beneficial fats. A large number of diets are actually based on very low calories. Realize that everything below 1250 calories a day is not a good idea. The body will think that you are in starvation mode and your metabolism will slow down. After every low-calorie diet, your metabolism will actually easier and faster accumulate fat (yo-yo effect). Often, starvation slows thyroid that is responsible for your basal metabolism, raises the appetite, reduces energy, secretion of enzymes LPL (lipoprotein lipase) is increasing- it is an enzyme responsible for fat storage, fat burning enzymes are in decline. When you are on a crazy diet your body chemistry changes. If you’re exercising hard, depending on whether you are a woman or a man and depending on your weight, 1250 calories won’t be enough. The same thing happens if you skip meals.

Diets do not help in the long run. If you want lasting change, understand that you need to change living habits. Improve the quality of your eating habits (NO STARVATION, PLEASE!) and enhance physical activity. Arm yourself with patience and persistence, they are the key of success. In this way, expect to lose up to 1 lbs a week. And next time when new product for weight loss appears put your brain to work, after a few months, it will be withdraw from the market.

DESTROY THE MONSTERS (or HOW TO RELIEVE YOUR INHIBITIONS)

We are all born as creators, but we all were inhibited in our growth from our earliest childhood in countless ways, some less some more. Doesn’t matter  it was for our good or not- we were stopped to push our fingers in wall plug when we were children or our free thoughts or creations met with sharp criticism or disapproval when we needed support . Our curiosity wasn’t often nurtured. We were sabotaged until we made our way into society and community as exemplary members. Perhaps we were badly hurt in a moment of our greatest inspiration.

All that is written in our subconscious. Network of neurons is built on the basis of our experience and those connections made emotional nodes, as I like to call them.

Now we don’t think about putting our hand on warm plate, because we know that hurts!

But what about our dreams? It’s like we have already forgotten that we ever had them. Are we willing to renounce them forever? I do not believe that man was created for mediocrity, this is one big misconception! And it’s not about that mediocrity does not bring happiness, happiness is overvalued term, it’s that we completely miss the essence of existence! We are all born creators! Our mind is the perfect tool!

Unbelievable, but it’s true that most people do not know what their dreams and visions are. Mostly, people do what they think they should do to ensure the life existence. This means that we are mature and serious. We give up our childishness and now we are inhibited normal citizens. But you can continue to do all that, but not be inhibited.

There is a simple way to wake up our creativity, but along the way old monsters are waiting, so be prepared! This is a special task-take your notebook and go back to the earliest memories. Now we are not interested in beautiful, but bad memories. Note all the people from earliest childhood until today, that brings you a negative feelings. It can be someone very close to you. List them and give them names, they are your monsters, you need to know who they are, you need to know your “enemies.” Describe an unpleasant situation and what they said to you, how you felt. This method is used Julia Cameron in her workshop (The Artist’s Way) and I personally thought it won’t help me, not because I don’t believe in writing, but because I believed that I have no inhibitions now. I was wrong. My first and greatest monster was a teacher of a new class in which I came when I was 8. Extremely cold and ruthless, she costs me bad migraine in which I was losing my vision. Returning these memories, I experienced intense catharsis. With other monsters I went a lot easier.

Do this exercise,it’s invaluable. You will realize that monsters are extremely inhibited beings and what they did to you had nothing to do with you. Monsters will never disappear forever, but this way you’re taking  away their power over you .

BASIC COMPONENTS OF GOOD FITNESS PROGRAM

Finally you have decided to bring regular physical activity into your life! Congrats! That’s very smart decision that will pay you multiple if you put it in action! And before you decide “what and how”, you should check it with your doctor, then you should know what a good program includes , there are three basic components:

1.CARDIOVASCULAR ENDURANCE  considers continuous activity that involves large muscle groups, raises the number of heart beats per minute, respiration rate and body temperature. Such activities are walk, jogging, cycling, roller, swimming, dancing … all types of aerobic trainings such as tae boa, step aerobics, cardio boxing, spinning, as well as activities in which we use various devices such as treadmill, elliptical trainer etc. These activities, when regularly practice, contribute to better fitness level, the regulation of body weight, speeds up metabolism and increases energy, reduce stress. To drop pounds it’s recommended (especially to endomorphs!) 4-6 cardio trainings a week, for maintenance 3 times per week (ectomorphs maybe less). Of course, if you are completely out of form even 10 minutes will bring you good. After some time the length of training, intensity, frequency and type of cardio trainings could and should be changed. In fact 45 minutes a day is a max. All over 60 minutes can eat those muscles you already have!

2.STRENGTH means the ability of muscles to provide resistance to force. If your abs and back are strong they will protect your spine from injuries. Getting stronger will bring you better posture, you’ll skip osteoporosis, in the long run our body will burn more calories, our body will be designed well and nicely ripped. In these activities we include weightlifting, exercise in which body weight is used as weight-pull ups, pushups, climbing the stairs. Each exercise must be carried out properly or won’t be effective. In one training we can do the whole body (which is good for beginners), or certain parts of the body-legs, abs, back, arms (biceps, triceps), shoulders. Between trainings you should rest, specially between training  the same muscle group. Remember that the rest has its own role in your progress. Don’t overdo it! Frequency is 2-4 times a week. Each exercise has a certain number of repetitions – for the more strength power-8-10 and 12-15 for lean muscles- in series or super series. Last 3 reps have to be demanding.

3.FLEXIBILITY means range of movement of our bodies or body parts. Usually, we do stretching exercise before and after other exercises, but also separately as a complete practice as yoga, pilates- at least once a week treat yourself with good stretching. That will improve your posture and relieve soreness, relax you, and give you more movements in your daily life. Hold each position for 10-30 seconds and breathe! This component  people often ignore, but flexibility is what rejuvenatesus.

Each component complements and improves the other. If you ignore just one, be aware that you are doing only half of the job.

Syndrome “I HAVE NO TIME”

During the last week I heard again from several people “I have no time!”. It’s not important what was referred to, the lack of time for reading or exercise, dealing with hobbies or spending a quality time with dear people.

SYNDROME “I HAVE NO TIME” IS ACTUALLY THE LACK OF FOCUS, CONCENTRATION AND INTROSPECTION!!!

Answer the following questions:

Do you feel like your life strikes you from all sides? That your life is managed by someone else and not you? It seems like time flies, you can’t accomplish anything during the day, doesn’t matter how much you are doing? Feel lack of power and feel helpless, you can’t resist the blind forces? Do you feel screaming desire to tell them all to leave you alone? Do you find the relief in meaningless forms of entertainment every day, and in the end you are not even aware how much time you spent that way, but you feel that this is necessary or you go crazy?

“Yes” is indicator that you are not spending enough time with yourself and that your concentration is weak in carrying out tasks:

If you do care about something and it is important for quality of your life-WHAT’S STOPPING YOU TO DO IT????

Possible causes:

1. Laziness: all what requires little more mental and physical effort makes you tired!

2. Irresponsibility: take responsibility for your own life, face with your disabilities. That can be painful experience and it’s easier to blame other people and complain! If you always blame your boss, spouse or child, you should know that no one can threat you bad, only if you let them!

3. The fear to exit from your comfort zone: who knows what’s waiting for you outside, maybe something will cut your head!  In any case respond to the challenge needs courage, effort. Successful people need to be permanently behind their success.

4. Disorganization: you really do not know what are your priorities, not only in the course of one day, but in life general. You are not aware of what you like and what you do not like-and you are going to be organized by accident.

5. Lack of self respect: to make others love you, you become their doormat, you don’t know how to put yourself in the first place and you are still convinced that it is your moral duty?

6. Lack of physical energy: you don’t deal sufficiently with your health.

Have a deep look into yourself. We all can find ourselves somewhere above. No one is perfect in every moment and every stage of life. But if we know our attitude, character traits, habits are limitation in our life, it is time to get rid of them!!!!!!

WHAT’S YOUR BODY TYPE?

Physically and metabolically there are no two identical people. The same exercise and nutrition program applied for two people will never give identical results.

I am a big proponent of individual formula or a combination of physical exercise and diet, which only corresponds to an individual:

MY EXERCISE PROGRAM + MY NUTRITION = MY SUCCESSFUL TRANSFORMATION

To find your formula, you have to explore, to activate your common sense and curiosity; you should care about your body. Perhaps it’s easier simply  to  follow one of the currently popular diets or hang out in the gym with a friend, even if you don’t like the crowd. If your results are not permanent, give up the instant solution!

Good investigation means we must have the basic knowledge, without which all our actions will be meaningless . Today we talk about three basic metabolic types, of which we are mainly a combination. We can be a combination of two or all three, in different proportions.

MESOMORPH-  slender, muscular and naturally athletic type. Easy to lose fat and to gain muscles. Narrow waist, broad shoulders, chest dominates the abdominal part, medium or large bones, naturally strong. High energy level and metabolism. Reacts good to any kind of sport. They can eat everything and that doesn’t affect their appearance.

ECTOMORPH – thin types, bony, with a very fast metabolism, low percentage of fat. Hyperactive.  Usually with narrow joints, narrow waist. Whole life they don’t have a problem with extra fat even when they don’t practice cardio. They can eat everything without consequences. The main weakness is they hardly gain lean body mass and because of that the lack of strength. They need trainings and quality nutrition to overcome its type. They lose weight without intent.

ENDOMORPHS- round, with excessive weight and medium-sized or larger bones. Wide waist and hips. Stomach dominates the chest. Difficultly lose fat, and easy gain fat. Slow metabolism. Some are sensitive to carbohydrates  which they quickly convert  (specially sugar, white wheat …) in to the fat. Require strict discipline with eating and trainings. They can’t lose weight just with diet, they need exercise to speed up their slow metabolism and cardio training 4-5 times a week. Difficultly  maintain the desired weight. May have problems with the thyroid. Lack of energy.

DEFINITION OF LOVE

It is interesting how the concept of love throughout the history was mystified and interpreted wrong, if someone asks me. Here I will not deal with this.

In high school we had a strange professor of philosophy who forced us to define various terms. The professor was right. What’s the use of terms we don’t understand and terms we can’t explain? So I, nearly a decade later, dared, quite spontaneously to define love! I did that in spite to those who each time fall into a trance when they pronounce that love can’t be defined, as one mysterious thing!  Please, there’s no clearer thing than love!

I’ll share my definition. I recommend you to try to make your own, using your words. Written should radiate directly from your heart, like a light. Then, frame your definition and put it in a place where you can see it frequently. Read it as often as possible and let it fill your heart with peace. Let it be your reminder, when needed!

“Love is pervasive state of mind, the synergy of thoughts and feelings. Radiates from the person, can be seen on the face and movements. As such is elixir of youth. Inner state that radiates and can’t be concealed.

Love is the conscious, affirmative, active attitude towards the outside world. Susceptible for all. All doors are open, the heart is never closed to anyone. Love is the ability to see the beauty in everything.

Love is the power to affect other people and to motivate the best in them. For love is the disease. Creative force and driving energy.

It is superior state of mind in which no one can harm you, the position in which you don’t ask for anything , because everything you need, you already bring in yourself. “

HOW OUR BRAIN WORKS: CONSCIOUSNESS-SUBCONSCIOUS-VIBRATION (part two)

We think in images. We have to have a clear images, mind doesn’t need confusion!

Important question- DO YOU POSSES IMAGE OF YOUR MIND?

I heard this question for the first time at the seminar “Born rich” by Bob Proctor. Bob Proctor actually worked on the image of the mind (currently I’m developing my own version). When we posses that image we can easily understand how our mind works and how an idea becomes a reality.

The image is actually a little man with the vastly increased head. This directly indicates how powerful the mind is and shows that we are not just physical beings, completely hampered with material world around us. You should remember now, what we mentioned about quantum physics (please read it, no matter how bad you were with the natural sciences!). Look at things around you. All those things were ideas in someone’s head, once!

The mind is divided into two parts-CONSCIOUSNESS AND SUBCONSCIOUS MIND!

Here we will stop and explain their mutual action!

Consciousness is the one who has the power to analyze critically suggestions received from the external environment, reject or accept them (INTELLECT AND ABILITY OF CRITICAL THINKING). All this does not apply to subconscious.

SUBCONSCIOUS MIND absorbs everything that is served, and if our awareness and ability of critical thinking is down-all sorts of rubbish from our environment, from advertising to the negative comments of people will directly affect our subconscious, and therefore our life (EMOTIONS AND VIBRATIONS).

Do not forget that consciousness is just the top of the iceberg and that the subconscious mind is the main scriptwriter and director of our lives. It is irrelevant whether we buy toothpaste already seen on commercial (because the girl has so bright teeth) or we will make a destructive choice, because our parents have certain expectations!

The good news is that the subconscious mind can be influenced by the concrete action of consciousness!

Let’s go back to the image. When IDEA goes to the subconscious mind and make connection with emotions, our body reacts with a certain vibration. Our body will then work without resistance to realize that idea. Analyze your life and realize that you have created it by yourself. OUR THOUGHTS ARE OUR DESTINY- you have already heard this, for sure.

Good thoughts, good vibrations, good results.

Bad thoughts, bad vibrations, bad results.

What is the problem then? People do not want to take 100% responsibility for their lives! Someone else is always guilty!

FUNDATION OF VITAL LIFE-TAKING CARE OF YOUR BODY

Until now, we understood how we owner of fantastic “machine”, we tried to replace our body negative attitude with positive one (this is the part that we must not skip, and should exercise it every day) and we imagined how we want to look and how to feel in our body. Your vision should excite you so much that you don’t delay ACTION!

Today we are becoming aware of elements of good health and vitality. There is always somebody to say -”You have to die from something!”. I believe that someone who pronounced this sentence is not really aware about the meaning of the same-when we all have to die, let me die each day little by little. I always give them the same answer – it’s not about dying, it is about the time till dying- LIFE!

How we want to spend that life, how to feel? I don’t believe that there is a man of clear mind who wants to spend life in semiconscious condition, incapable to use his potential, only because he forgets or was lazy to take care of his body. It’s amazing that people take more care of inanimate things-women lick all around the house, men lick their cars…

How do you feel today? If you activated THE OBSERVER, he would already state how you felt the last few days. If you feel bad, tired, with no energy, in bad mood-large percentage of the causes is of physical nature. It’s amazing how our mind depends on the biochemical processes in the body! If you are not willing and feel no enthusiasm to be involved in spiritual activities, you need to care about your body even more!
So, if you want to determine the causes of your negative condition, consider and write in your notebook in which of the following fields you’re not acting well. On each item I’ll write particularly, and until then it is very important for us to become aware of what we are missing:

1. SLEEPING
2. DIGESTION
3. NUTRITION
4. PHYSICAL ACTIVITY
5. H2O
6. SUPPLEMENTS
7. BREATHING CORRECTLY AND AIR QUALITY
8. CIRCULATION
9. CARE
10. TO MUCH STIMULANTS AND DRUGS: SUGAR, NICOTINE, ALCOHOL, CAFFEINE…

HOW OUR BRAIN WORKS- HABITS- PART ONE

It is not necessary to be neurosurgeon or psychiatrist to know a few elementary facts about how the brain is functioning. For some of you, the following facts may be revelation, and most will think “Yes! I knew that!”. My dear friends, WHAT WE KNOW IS NOT ENOUGH, KNOWLEDGE THAT DOES NOT APPLY IS DEAD KNOWLEDGE! And do not forget –REPEATING IS MOTHER OF KNOWLEDGE! And…TAKE ACTION!
We live our lives, we think we are clever, we think we know everything, that we have freedom of choice and free will and that we know what we are doing! I put myself on that list. Then the question is, when everything is so perfectly with us, why are we stuck in PROBLEMS, WHY REALITY IS NOT AS WE LIKE TO BE? Why, oooh, why?
Therefore, my friends, because we don’t cooperate and work in accordance with a few elementary principles of brain functioning.
Pay attention how you are spending day after day. Write down every action you perform during the day, from brushing your teeth to the larger work. Do it for fun, two, three days. A large number of actions are repeated and they full fill the most of our time. Maybe you will be shocked and disappointed by the fact that we act as programmed robots! Conclusion one:

PEOPLE ARE GUIDED BY HABITS!

Habits are deeply rooted patterns of behavior. Example- from our childhood, we learned to wash our hands when we come from the outside or learn to wash our teeth before bedtime and after every meal. Also, we learned to drink coffee and smoke before breakfast. These actions are routine, we don’t think about them, most of the time we are not even aware that we do them.

As often we repeat a certain action, from day to day, it becomes our second nature. In the brain, neurons make connections, those becomes stronger and stronger as we are repeating the same action. This is neither good nor bad. However, if we are aware of this, we can turn this “mechanism” to our advantage.

Another important fact is that THERE ARE GOOD AND BAD HABITS!
Third – YOUR BAD HABITS TERRORIZED YOU, DOESN’T MATTER IF YOU AWARE OR NOT!
Fourth –IF WE WANT TO BREAK A BAD HABIT, IT NEEDS TO BE REPLACED WITH OTHER ONE.

For example-why most people gain weight when they stop smoking? Because smoking was replaced with another bad habit- eating a lot! Bad habit must be replaced with new good habit.

Now you certainly have a clear picture- why it is necessary to repeat useful techniques and methods (so far we have mentioned only writing) from day to day.
Psychologists say – 3 weeks is sufficient time to adopt new habit and break the old one.
Honestly, from my experience I know that, for the majority, without 30 to 90 days there is no safe progress.
